Hi herb lovers,
Our big event for the year has come and gone, the Herb awareness was a
huge succes. Thanks again to all of you who gave your time and effort to
make our first Herb Awareness at our new venue run smoothly.
Once again Deb did a fantastic job co-ordinating and I appreciate that
she volunteered to take this job on again.
It really was great to have so many helpers at the hall on Saturday to help
set up. We had our herb arch this year and what an impressive herb arch
it was. There were plenty of donations of cut herbs brought in to cover
the entry way to the hall. Thanks Cheryl and your helpers - it really looked
much better than I imagined.
It is so reassuring to see the usual diehards, those who have been in
the club for many years and continue to put their hands up to help out
...thank you.
We have some great meetings coming up, at our next meeting on the 5th of July, we have Lise Racine speaking on “A biodynamic
approach to herb growing” Lise makes creams and ointments from herbs she grows on her property in Tallebudgera by bio-dynamic principals. Lise will explain how she grows healthy chemical free herbs by the Demeter method. She will have some of her handmade creams for sale so bring along some extra cash.
Herb of the month will be rocket.
Don’t forget to bring a plate of herby inspired food to share for supper at our next meeting.
Our August meeting will be a soup night.
Cheryl and Debbie will demonstrate how to make damper and corn dippers to go with the soup.
Herb of the month will be Lavender.
Please bring along a soup to share, along with a card of ingredients, for those with
food sensitivities /allergies.
Don’t forget to fill out your membership form and either bring it to the next meeting or post it with a cheque. We are offering 3 year membership - for those who like to pay and forget for a few years.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new members, we are glad that you have joined our club, and I hope you enjoy our meetings, our sage magazine and our love of herbs!
Hope to see you all
at the next meeting.....
